PASS Statement on Christopher Hart's Nomination as NTSB Chairman

The Professional Aviation Safety Specialists, AFL-CIO (PASS) congratulates Christopher Hart, acting chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), on his nomination by President Obama to serve as board chairman.

Hart has an extended history with both the NTSB and the FAA, serving as FAA deputy director for Air Traffic Oversight as well as assistant administrator for System Safety. He initially joined the NTSB in 1990 and served until 1993, at which time he departed to work for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the FAA. He rejoined the board in 2009 and has served as acting chairman since April. PASS looks forward to working with Hart in order to ensure and improve the safety of this country's aviation system.
